Companies Using Email Signatures as Marketing Tool

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Taps Red Earth Software to Brand Corporate Email

Boulder, Colo. – January 26, 2012 – Companies in every industry are recognizing the marketing potential of using uniform email signatures for outgoing employee email. As more and more companies are operating on tight marketing budgets, email signatures are being used to promote branding and marketing efforts for companies of all sizes.

Hospitality Technology recently published a case study on how the Hard Rock Resort & Casino in Las Vegas added Red Earth Software’s Policy Patrol Disclaimers for Exchange to their IT system to support the marketing department. The Hard Rock Resort & Hotel needed a way to standardize the signature on all outgoing emails to give them a consistent appearance and a corporate feel. At the same time, they hoped to be able to include information on upcoming hotel events without having to ask all employees to keep on updating their email signatures.

“For a company as iconic as the Hard Rock Resort & Casino, it’s imperative that their outgoing email signatures accurately reflect the spirit of the brand,” said Deborah Galea, co-founder and COO of Red Earth Software. “Our email signature solution allows Hard Rock to ensure that each outgoing email is consistently stamped with the Hard Rock branded email signature.”

With roughly 2,500 employees and 800 email users, email is the primary form of communication for Hard Rock. They use it to communicate with vendors, partners, customers, employees, etc. Policy Patrol allows Hard Rock to create one email signature template that is automatically personalized with the sender’s Active Directory information. This means that email signatures can be updated on the fly with the latest events and promotions.

“Policy Patrol Disclaimers is very easy to operate and we have to do very little to maintain it,” said Mike Essig, IT Director for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. “All updates to team member contact information are completed in Active Directory and immediately Policy Patrol picks up on the changes and applies them to the email signatures.”

Now, inconsistent email signatures have been transformed into an efficient, corporate marketing tool with a powerful branded message. Instead of worrying about disparate email signatures, the Hard Rock team can get back to what they do best, rock and roll.
